Now what did I buy you ask?

The goodies I bought home from yesterday's gathering include
a kit to make all Marg Low's projects, all pretties of course
I have plenty in my stash to do Gail's projects.
I also purchased these lovely new wool projects,
designed by Leonnie from the Quilted Crow
plus another piece of wool to add to my collection
and I've always wanted a pretty apron so I chose this one by Leanne Beasely
So as you can see there's lots there to keep me busy!
I hope you've all had a productive weekend.
Cheers from
Jo xxx

I'm so sad :-(

Another wonderful gathering has ended and I miss my friends already. It was such a lovely day and I love to see what everyone is doing and have a good old chat. It just goes far to quick. Thank-you Leonnie and Dierdre for a great day and to Gail Pan and Marg Low for sharing the day with us.
I'm a hopeless blogger, dashed out this morning without my camera! Luckily Fee had hers so if you visit her blog you'll see some of the projects we had to choose from. Plus a  couple of photos of the bloggers who attended. Fee sent me a photo of what I made and actually completed. This was all I did all day!!
This gorgeous bookmark was designed by Marg Low and is higlighted by a Theodora Cleave button. I learnt how to do glove stitch and would you believe I only just learnt how to do a quilter's knot (Thanks Helen, you're a good teacher!)
I've got plenty of projects to go on with so hopefully I can get a bit more stitching in before the day's out!

Missing Mug Bag

After searching high and low for my mug bag with no luck I decided I had to make another for the Quilted Crow's gathering tomorrow. This time I used two tea towels from a $2 shop and I love the finished product.
I even made a matching coaster. The pattern was from Australian Homespun Issue No. 36
So my bag is all packed and ready for a big day out!!

I've had a Make Over!

Don't you just love my new look! The lovely Michelle from Leni and Rose designed it and I'm lucky enough to test drive it. Michelle even kindly changed it to suit my 3 columns. She's so clever, oneday I hope to learn how to create my own backgrounds too! Thanks Michelle, it's so cute!
I still have a bit of tweaking to do like changing colours of my word clouds and bits and pieces to match the new colour scheme!!

A finish and a challenge

I finished the second runner from Marg Low's first Christmas Club pattern. I think it looks gorgeous! I'm looking forward to the Quilted Crow's gathering, only two weeks to go now, Marg is sure to impress me with more lovely projects.
This is what my Ugly Fat Quarter Swap partner, Elyte, has sent me to work on. I've been mulling over a few ideas and I think I'm on the right track now!
So much for me not signing up for any swaps this year but I couldn't resist this challenge
hosted by Fee and Jenny!

A Win and a card

Look at the gorgeous buttons waiting for me when I arrived home on Friday!

They are by the extremely creative Barb of Theodora Cleave. She handpaints every single one of them. I was lucky enough to win these as part of a giveaway where I had to guess how many buttons she had painted in the last month. My guess of 2250 fell short by 740 but was the closest. Barb must truly love her art!
Now I'll have to decide where and when I'll use these beautiful embellishments.
Thank-you so much Barb, I never expected to recieve so many but what a lovely surprise!!

I also wanted to show you a card I made for a dear friend, it took me ages but I loved the result!

Stars in my eyes!

Today was a public holiday in Tasmania for 8 hour day, it recognises when Tassie joined the rest of Australia in working an 8 hour day. It meant I didn't have to go to my regular day job but it didn't stop me from having to do all those boring chores around the house, you know the ones, all the work we do and don't get paid for! Anyway it wasn't all chores, I did manage some stitching time.

I signed up for Marg Low's Christmas Club and the first pattern arrived last Friday. There's two very cute table runners to do. I raided my stash and found some fabric suitable for the Checkerboard Star  runner. I completed this in no time.
(OOps just realised I quilted all the checkers, it's supposed to be the background squares only!)

I hope to do the Rusty Bells Star Runner soon.... Yeah and I know, Angel's Story too.

Bloghop over to Marg's blog, she does some beautiful work and some projects include the gorgeous buttons and embellishments created by Theodora Cleave.

Marg Low and Gail Pan are both coming to The Quilted Crow's Autumn Gathering on the 27th March, I'm looking forward to another fun day with stitching friends!

Distracted once again

I was driven to distraction over the weekend by a pattern that I won on Hilltop House's Giveaway. The pattern arrived in my snail mail box on Friday afternoon and on Saturday I got straight to work stitching the pretty embroidery, by Sunday night it was complete. I used some gorgeous Eva fabrics and changed the threads to suit the colours I used. It's a quick project to make and it'll be a lovely gift for a friend who has just had a wee bub! Thank-you so much Evonne!

So here's the finished project next to the pattern of course....
So as you can imagine I made no progress on quilting the Angel's Story quilt but I haven't forgotten about it. At least I have my first OPAM finish for March!
