Birthday Pressies

Yesterday was a big ceremony to not only celebrate the London Olympics 2012 but my birthday, how special to have fireworks, I'm sure they were just for me.
My lovely Friends in Stitching group pressie was put together by Chookyblue, Chook has done an outstanding job and I'm so glad she decided to part with the bag cause I  love it! Thank-you Chooky.

Inside was also a bundle of her cards, some delicious mustard, Chooky's recipe and maltesers and you'd be surprised o hear I haven't eaten them yet, probably because I've also been unwell the last few days. I'm feeling much better now and to top off my birthday I won a giveaway over at Amy's blog!

Now to crafting at my place, it's been going on in dribs and drabs. Recently I purchased some Tim Holtz Distress Markers, these are great, they act a bit like watercolours (must get some decent watercolour paper), here I've used them with some stamped images, I need more practice.
There's some great clips on youtube on how to use them and other Tim Holtz products.I'm off work all this week so I'm sure I can find some time to play some more.
Cheers!!

Clip, Clip, Paperclip!

I joined a swap recently held by The Altered Paper to alter a couple of large paperclips into bookmarks.

My lovely swap partner was Amy from The Crafty Book Nerd. Amy is very creative and very generous. Look a the bookmarks she made, so pretty, I think I'll put these on my favourite craft books.
I love the little cameo on this one
and when I said Amy is generous she is REALLY generous,
look at this bundle of goodies, perfect for those little altered art projects I love to make
Thankyou Amy, I hope to swap with you again sometime.
I'm joining The Altered Paper's next swap too "Face Only ATC" why don't you check it out and join in too, for all the details visit here you have until the 14th July to sign up!

Life is always beautiful.....

....when you can find some time over the weekend for a little stitching.
A dresden plate using Helen's gorgeous new fabrics. I'm working on something now for the centre and then I'll decide what to make with it.

Shabbified

I can breathe a sigh of relief, it's finally Friday! Maybe this weekend I can find some time in my craft room, I especially need to do some rearranging in my craft room to put some new purchases in the perfect spot. These purchases join my recently acquired paint caddy by from Shabby Art Boutique
Kerryanne also sent the little lavendar sachet too, it smells divine!

So back to the new purchases...
a shabbified letter rack but now it's holding some pretty fat eighths

and...
the most delicious pairs.

Kerryanne is so talented, you must visit her blog, especially if you love shabby things.

I'm hoping by Monday night that my next post will have been about something I've stitched over the weekend!

Well Hello There!

I'm so sorry for not posting for almost 1 month but work, life, renovations, uni and exams took over the month of June. When I reflect on the last few months, it's been rather hectic, uni has been great and I've received top marks for all my assignments, just waiting for the exam results and fingers crossed I've done well there too. Then to top it all off I got a promotion at work, I'm now part of management, not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, could mean lots more work but I'll tackle it head on like I do most things.

My stitching mojo is a bit slow recovering however I have managed to complete my first block for Carpe Dieum...it's my first attempt at raw edge machine applique.

I bought the kit from Esmes, it's very bright and cheery!

Something else that has distracted me lately is this trilogy
Everyone I know including myself have loved this series, it's not your typical mills and boon type novel, it's much hotter! I was a bit sad when I finished the last book, now I have to find something just as good...any suggestions?
